Drakengard 3/screenshots/Square Enix

Square Enix is set to release this title in Japan later this fall. This looks to be an action-heavy game with some RPG elements to it. No mention if it will receive release outside of Japan yet or not, but the visuals look excellent so far. – Nick H, Senior…

Marvel Comics announces Superior Spider-Man Team-Up, Aliens loses its Wii U motion tracker, and Dark Horse Comics celebrates 25 issues of DH Presents in this week’s BG News Wrap. Oh, and Star Wars 1313 was almost a Boba Fett game. But you didn’t want to play that did you? Star…

Action Adventure/Microsoft/Microsoft Xbox 360/Ninja Gaiden/Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge/Reviews/Team Ninja/Tecmo Koei/Xbox 360

I was one of the rare few that enjoyed the original Ninja Gaiden 3. While I understood what put people off the game, there was a dynamism and intensity in the game that I hadn’t experienced before or since. But the game was indeed a critical disaster, and impressively, in…

DSiWare/Nintendo/Nintendoji

Unfortunately, this is the Japanese Club Nintendo, but I wonder if this might not be a sign of future things to come. Nintendoji is a download available only to platinum (and maybe gold? I have seen conflicting reports on this) Club Nintendo users. Apparently a redeemable code will be sent…

An interesting little trailer has just landed in our inboxes. Developers, Most Wanted, and publisher, bitComposer, has lifted the wrappers on a new Thunder Wolves trailer, and we’re rather looking forward to this one. As you can see from the trailer, this is a bit of an action-heavy chopper combat…

EA/Editorial/facepalm/Opinion/worst company

For the second year in a row, EA has found itself as a finalist in the “worst companies in America” list. Last year it, in fact, won the award. To be perfectly blunt, for the second year in a row I have been rendered speechless (but not without the ability…

Retro Review: Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (3DS)

April 8, 2013

action RPG/Nintendo/Nintendo 3DS/Retro Reviews/Reviews/Zelda/Zelda II

I’ll be the first to admit I’m not a huge Zelda fan. The storyline(s), puzzles and creepy characters always put me off as a kid. Unlike Mario, The Legend of Zelda never sucked me in from beginning to end. Indeed, Zelda was one of the few big names of gaming…

Apple/Injustice/Injustice Gods Among Us/iOS/iPad/iPhone/Reviews/Warner Bros

The upcoming console release of Injustice: Gods Among Us is worth getting excited for. Bringing some of the finest heroes and villains in DC Comic’s considerable portfolio together for some fighting action developed by the guys behind Mortal Kombat? Yes, yes and yes. The dark, brooding visuals and character design…
