Fighting game/Injustice Gods Among Us/Microsoft Xbox 360/Nintendo/Nintendo Wii U/PlayStation/Reviews/Warner Bros/Xbox/Xbox 360

Warner Bros. clearly had this game in mind when it acquired Ed Boon’s team at NetherRealm Studios. It must have been a moment of celebration at the publisher’s headquarters when a premier fighting game developer went on the open market; here was after all an opportunity to bring in-house the…

Apple/Bird Mania/endless runner/iOS/iPad/iPhone/Reviews/Teyon

Early on in the 3DS’ eShop download platform there was a cheap and cheerful little downloadable game called Bird Mania. It was an endless runner (or flyer in this instance), and it was not anything more than that, but stylish presentation and a lack of other games on the platform…

3DS/3DS eShop/Nintendo/Nintendo 3DS/Reviews/Soccer/Soccer Up 3D/Sports

Kung Fu Rabbit/Nintendo/Nintendo Wii U/platformer/Reviews/Wii U

Australia/Gamebook/Interview/Interviews/Neil Rennison

Here’s an interesting little Australian indie developer for you. Neil Rennison, the man behind Tin Man Games, has made a career about a style of game that most people would have considered dead. The humble gamebook was a big deal back in the 80s with the likes of the Fighting…

The weekly discussion: What was the best decade for gaming?

April 19, 2013

The weekly discussion/weekly chat

Was it the 80s with those darned cute sprites, the 90s for the wow factor of playing games in three dimensions (never mind that those were ugly blocks that were meant to be people of course!)? Or perhaps for you it was the naughties, that brought with it the basic…

Nintendo/Nintendo 3DS/Nintendo Wii U/Opinion

I’ve just sat down to start a play through of Fire Emblem – it’s finally out in Australia, see, and it’s one of the few Nintendo franchises that I will put aside healthy activities like eating, sleeping and washing to play. Seriously; when I start playing a Fire Emblem game…
