3DS Review/3DS Reviews/JRPG/Nintendo 3DS/NISA/Reviews/RPG Maker/RPG Maker Fes/software

Review by Matt S. Most people who have even a passing interest in JRPGs should, by now, know what RPG Maker is. For years the series of easy to use, highly specialised software applications have allowed people with no game development skill whatsoever to build their own JRPGs, and then…

Final Fantasy XII/Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age/Hands-On Impressions/JRPG/Preview/PS4 Preview/Square Enix

Preview by Matt S. Final Fantasy XII, remastered into glorious HD with Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, isn’t long away now, and for many people it’ll be the first opportunity to play a game that had been previously restricted to a console that has been long retired. I’ve had…

Review: Tokyo Xanadu (Sony PlayStation Vita)

action RPG/Aksys/JRPG/PlayStation Vita/Reviews/Tokyo Xanadu/Vita Review

Review by Harvard L. Tokyo Xanadu is being released in the West at a somewhat unfortunate time. It trails Persona 5 and The Caligula Effect, when its 2015 Japanese release date puts it more in the ballpark of Conception 2 or Mind:Zero. It’s developed by Falcom, arguably the inventor of…

Birthdays The Beginning/Conception II/Criminal Girls: Invite Only/Dark Rose Valkyrie/Gal*Gun/list/Omega Quintet/The Caligula Effect/The Friday 10/Top 10/unpopular games/Valkyria Revoluion

List by Matt S. I know that my taste in games can be somewhat different to what people in the “mainstream” like to play. And I’m quite comfortable with that. I can only be me, and I would find life quite boring if I agreed with the mainstream on everything.…

Aven Colony/city builder/Hands-On Impressions/Preview/PS4 Preview/simulation/Team17

Preview by Matt S. One of the lesser-known things about me is that I love city builders almost as much as I love JRPGs. I don’t get to talk about the games as much, as I generally play games on console these days, and it’s rare for city builders to…

The fast five series of interviews is designed to highlight some of Australia’s creative…

Reviews by Moshe R. A week doesn’t go by without a huge pile of new games being released on Apple iPad. And, of course, there’s so much of it that is instantly forgettable, or downright terrible. But there’s also a lot of stuff that is really, really great. This week,…

Review by Pierre-Yves L. It was a quiet and peaceful night. So much so that you couldn’t stand it any longer and waltzed your way over to the pub. As fate would have it, your search for thrilling entertainment was answered the moment you enter, as you are asked to…
