Version 1.1 of Action Game Maker has been released
RPG Maker’s sister game, Action Game Maker, has been upgraded to version 1.1, Gotcha Gotcha Games announced last week. Action Game Maker is a tool that enables anyone to create 2D action games without requiring programming skills. It inherits the strengths of its predecessor, Pixel Game Maker MV, but now uses Godot Engine as its base.
Here’s what’s new in version 1.1, from Gotcha Gotcha Games:
- Visual Script UI Overhaul: The flow-based editor has been redesigned. With 1.0, the visual script was limited to a left-to-right structure. With version 1.1, users can freely design flows in all directions—up, down, left, and right. This allows creators to be more creative and flexible in their development process.
- New Tutorial Course, “Getting Started with Action Game Maker”: A brand-new tutorial course is now available, designed for complete beginners with no prior knowledge of game development. This course guides users through creating an action shooting game while teaching not only the features of Action Game Maker and Godot Engine, but also fundamental concepts such as layers and variables.
- Godot Engine Upgrade to Version 4.4.1: The base engine has been upgraded from Godot 4.3 to 4.4.1. This upgrade makes available features such as the ability to run games directly within the editor window.
Developed and published by Gotcha Gotcha Games, Action Game Maker v.1.1 is available now for PC via Steam.
