PowerWash Simulator 2 launches later this month

I’m a massive fan of the original PowerWash Simulator, and PowerWash Simulator 2 is one of my most anticipated games of the year. Developer FuturLab wanted to be sure it was ready before making the announcement, and that day has arrived: your first day on the job will be in mere weeks. The celebrate, watch this new mandatory training video for new cleaners:

The key features of the game, via FuturLab, include:

  • Split-Screen & Online Multiplayer – Clean solo, with a friend on the couch, or with up to four players online – all with shared progression.
  • Abseiling & Scissor Lift – Scale buildings, hover over rooftops, and clean from every angle. Don’t worry – fall damage doesn’t exist here.
  • Multi-Stage Jobs – Just when you think you’ve finished, surprise: there’s more to clean. Some jobs expand mid-wash, unlocking new areas on the fly.
  • Home Base Customisation – Restore furniture, decorate your HQ, and keep your base clean(ish). You earned it.
  • Career Mode – Take on 38 jobs across increasingly strange, sprawling, and oddly satisfying locations.
  • Soap, Nozzles & Tools – Upgrade your washer loadout with adaptable nozzles, surface cleaners, and yes, foamy soap.
  • Cat Companions – Ulysses and her kittens are back, following you on jobs and expecting to be petted. Often.

Developed and published by FuturLab, PowerWash Simulator 2 will be released for PC via Steam/Epic/Microsoft, PlayStation 5, Switch 2, and Xbox Series on October 23.

Action-adventure RPG/farming sim Emberville announced

Rebuild the titular town one quest at a time in Emberville, an action-adventure RPG that features simulation mechanics such as farming, fishing, item crafting, and more. The game features a multi-faceted progression system where players will level up combat/gathering/crafting skills and weapons/armour. Rescue new NPCs from the large, procedurally generated prison world dungeon called Vitromotus.

Players are encouraged to play how they want, choosing which skills to focus on. Emberville features a a weapon-bound combo system. Unlock new combos to chain light and heavy attacks together for devastating attacks on enemies. Creativity-wise, players are given a location to place buildings, decorations, farms, crafting equipment, and more. Many buildings and items can be customized further. Since a lot is going on, a dynamic UI system adjusts the HUD seamlessly when approaching task areas.

Developed by Cygnus Cross, Emberville will be released in Early Access for PC via Steam in 2026.

Bloober Team reveals its release calendar for five titles

While I do appreciate a good surprise game drop, I love it when a developer or publisher breaks down what’s on the horizon instead of just springing it on players. Bloober Team is doing just that, as it has announced its release calendar for five upcoming games.

  • Layers of Fear: The Final Masterpiece Edition will launch for Switch 2 this year
  • I Hate this Place, from subsidiary Broken Mirror Games, is delayed from November 7 to January 29, 2026. It will be released for PC, PlayStation 5, Switch, and Xbox Series.
  • Project F, from subsidiary Broken Mirror Games, will launch in 2026.
  • Project M, from subsidiary Broken Mirror Games, is a Nintendo-exclusive title launching in 2026.
  • Star Trek: Infection (formerly Project I, from a second-party developer) is a virtual reality survival horror game set in the Star Trek universe. It will be released for Quest 3 and Steam VR on December 11.

Lindsay picked up an NES controller for the first time at the age of 6 and instantly fell in love. She began reviewing GBA games 20 years ago and quickly branched out from her Nintendo comfort zone. She has has developed a great love of life sims and FMV titles. For her, accessibility is one of the most important parts of any game (but she also really appreciates good UI).
