Your favorite limbless cartoon hero slaps the 3DS’ virtual console silly this week as the original Rayman lands on the service- and there’s even something for Wii owners!
To many, the first Rayman was the best game to feature the Ubisoft character till the recently released Rayman Origins. There’s just something about the little guy that lends itself to the classic side-scrolling, 2D style. If you never played the game, I do heartily recommend it- its barely aged a day in the last 12 years.
I said there was something for Wii players this week too didn’t I? Well, there is- although how you feel about it is directly related to whether or not you’re completely tired of SNK ports yet. Metal Slug 3 is now on the Wii VC. I really like the MS games, and much like Rayman, they all remain eminently playable even all these years later. What say you?

Good week for downloads. I have Rayman on DSiWare, so should I get Rayman on GBC or is it the same thing?
I think it's basically the same game. If anything, the version you have on the DSi might be a more faithful port of the original than the GBC VC version.
Rayman on the GBC is a watered-down take on the original Rayman game. It's fun though, in some ways in terms of playability it's even a little better.

A friend of mine in High School used to be in band. His instructor would always make fun of the class whenever they sounded sloppy by going "God, it sounds like you guys are playing without arms or something! WAAAH WAAAH I HAVE NO ARMS! I HAVE NO LIMBS! WAAAH!"
