Inspired by puzzle automation classics from Zachtronics, Neon Noodles, a cyberpunk kitchen automation puzzler, is set to launch for PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox in two weeks. Set in a dystopian world where food equals power and precision is everything, the game features deep, open-ended automation gameplay. Take on the role of a mysterious figure with no memory and a hidden past, rising through the ranks of a Criminal Rehabilitation Program. In a futuristic food factory, refine the movements of robotic chefs as they whip up over 250 recipes that include over 400 ingredients.
Here is a description of Neon Noodles, from Eastasiasoft:
In a dark and dystopian cyberpunk future, food is the ultimate symbol of wealth and status. Using a revolutionary invention called Neon Noodles, the Aristocracy indulges their every culinary whim. Everyone else begs for scraps. With no memory and no name, you are just a cog in this machine. But when a mysterious message unlocks your forgotten past, it thrusts you into a daring, clandestine heist to seize control of Neon Noodles and reclaim your legacy.
Neon Noodles is an open-ended culinary-themed machine-building puzzle game where you program robotic chefs to cook 250 recipes from around the world, consisting of 400 unique ingredients. Take on challenging assignments from a cast of intriguing clients and design complex and beautiful automations to uncover the truth behind the Neon Noodles. Do you have what it takes to pry humanity’s future from the clutches of corporate greed?
“I designed Neon Noodles with controller support from the start, so players could flexibly create and optimise the smallest, fastest – or simply the prettiest — cooking layouts in a truly cyberpunk future,” says Radu Muresan, founder and solo developer at Vivid Helix, in a press release. “The idea actually came to me after playing Overcooked and thinking, ‘I want this… but without having to talk to anyone.’ So instead, you get to program robots!”
From Eastasiasoft and Vivid Helix, Neon Noodles will be released for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series, and Xbox One on July 16. It is currently available for PC.
