Please Be Happy is launching physically for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation

Funbox Media has announced that it will release a physical edition of Studio Élan’s heartwarming visual novel Please Be Happy. It is a slice-of-life visual novel set in a fictional version of Wellington, New Zealand, and it is described as “a gentle, emotional narrative about learning to trust, finding belonging, and discovering happiness in unexpected places.”

Miho was born as a fox in the woods, but has the memory of a traveller who showed her kindness and spoke of home. Miho, now more human than fox, has spent a long time searching for that person. Her search brings her to Wellington. She still has a lot to learn about human culture and society, and she’s made a living as a thief. She can easily take advantage of people. But then she meets Juliet, the owner of a small library, and Aspen, an aspiring novelist. Miho begins to understand what kindness is, and that people aren’t all bad.

Developed by Studio Élan and published by Funbox Media, Please Be Happy will be released physically for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch on March 27.

Two Orwell surveillance thrillers are now available for Nintendo Switch

It’s been nearly a decade since the original release of Orwell: Keeping an Eye on You, eight years for Orwell: Ignorance is Strength. Osmotic Studios and Daedalic Entertainment have announced that both games are now available for Nintendo Switch. There is no version for Switch 2, but both are compatible. The game’s central question is more important than ever: how much privacy are we willing to sacrifice for security?

Here are descriptions of the two games, from Daedalic Entertainment:

In Orwell: Keeping an Eye On You, players step into the role of a government investigator tasked with monitoring citizens through their private messages, emails, social media activity, and personal data. By deciding what information to forward to the authorities, players directly influence the course of an unfolding terrorism investigation, and with it the lives of the people involved. The game never tells you what the “right” choice is, only that every decision carries consequences.

Orwell: Ignorance is Strength continues the series with a new story set in the same unsettling world of digital surveillance and political manipulation. Players are once again asked to investigate, analyze, and report on citizens, but this time from a broader geopolitical perspective, dealing with fake news, propaganda, and the power of influence in an age of information warfare. Building on the moral complexity of the original, the sequel expands the scope of player choice, offering a deeper look at how truth can be shaped, distorted, and weaponized.

Developed by Osmotic Studios and published by Daedalic Entertainment, Orwell: Keeping an Eye on You and Orwell: Ignorance is Strength are now available for Nintendo Switch.

The Witch’s Bakery launches in Q2 2026 for PC and consoles

Cozy adventure RPG The Witch’s Bakery now has an official release window of Q2 2026. It’s about a joyful witch who opens a bakery in modern Paris. And she has the gift of seeing into people’s hearts and healing emotions through magic! Originally announced for PC, PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox, the release window news also came with the reveal of a Switch 2 version of the game.

Each day, Lunne’s schedule is in three parts: daytime, evening, and night. During the day, she manages her bakery and serves clients. During the evening, she explores Paris, builds relationships, discovers the city’s secrets, and goes inside her friends’ troubled hearts. During the night, she rests, improves her magic, decorates the bakery, and spends time in her atelier. The story progresses as the days pass, while Lunne gets experience, money, fame, and new friends.

Developed by Sunny Lab and published by Silver Lining Interactive, The Witch’s Bakery will be released for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Switch 2, Switch, and Xbox Series.

Indie roguelike shopkeeper Fortune Seller announced for PC

Players will manage their own antique shop in the upcoming indie roguelike game Fortune Seller. Sell countless antique relics, draw from new tarot cards each day for upgrades and abilities, and forever chase gold to meet increasing rental fees. A demo for Fortune Seller is available now.

Running the shop has put the player in crippling debt, and now they must optimize their daily quotas: make every sale count or lose their shop for good. Rent is ticking up by the day. Manage a Tetris-like inventory to sell enough items to cover the rent. Happy customers will make large purchases, so players must give them enough desirable treasures and Tarot/spell cards to influence the sale’s value. At the end of each week, a lunar phase will occur. Players can wake up to increased debt, restock limits, and reduced effects. Use Tarot cards to stack item values, grant fill bonuses, and more. Each item has a unique type and a minor Arcana; sell items of the same kind to rank up your minor Arcana and make the type grow more valuable. Spells can make items more powerful, reschedule moon phases, and even change the effects of Tarot cards entirely.

Here are the game’s gameplay features, via Kiwick:

  • 38 total card upgrades available
  • 22 arcana-inspired cards and 8 monster and body organ-inspired Tarot cards, each providing unique passive effects to enhance your sales
  • 20 spell cards to alter Tarot cards’ effects, Moon Events and more.
  • 12 unique star sign-based trade types to apply on new runs, each featuring unique and signature items.
  • 50+ items, allowing for endless effect combinations and modifiers.

Developed and published by Kiwick, Fortune Seller will be released for PC via Steam. A release date has not been announced.

Lindsay picked up an NES controller for the first time at the age of 6 and instantly fell in love. She began reviewing GBA games 20 years ago and quickly branched out from her Nintendo comfort zone. She has has developed a great love of life sims and FMV titles. For her, accessibility is one of the most important parts of any game (but she also really appreciates good UI).
