The Wholesome Snack is back for another year! December’s sister showcase to June’s Wholesome Direct promised (and delivered) world premiere trailers from over 20 wholesome and cozy games. Their games are emotionally resonant and inspire optimism, hope, and introspection from independent developers and publishers. As always, the Wholesome Snack was hosted by Jenny Windom, with special appearances by various content creators.

“It was a thrill to celebrate five years of Wholesome Direct in June, and now we’re closing out this special year with our best Wholesome Snack yet,” said Wholesome Games partner Matthew Taylor in a press release. “For those tuning in for the first time, you can expect a fast-paced, approximately 30-minute showcase that focuses on an extremely curated selection of games with exclusive content prepared just for Wholesome Snack.”

This year’s Humble Bundle supports the ACLU, which stands up for civil rights in the United States. You can view/purchase it here.

Game highlights

Wylde Society

Developed by Studio Drydock, Wylde Flowers prequel Wylde Society is a witchy period drama sim. This first trailer gives us a look inside Vivian’s boarding house, where she puts the finishing touches on the decor, admires an elegant ball, participates in a tense afternoon tea, and does a little witchcraft. Wylde Society will be released for PC via Steam; I expect console versions will also be announced.

Mirage: Miracle Quest

Developed by Toe Bean Club, Mirage: Miracle Quest is a modernized turn-based RPG, where strategy meets magical girl flair. Set off on an adventure in a hand-painted world inspired by Madagascar, France and Japan. As an exorcist, it’s your job to save troubled spirits. But who will be there if you’re the one that needs saving…? Master Mirage’s powers, customize your play style, and travel with memorable characters. A demo for Mirage: Miracle Quest is now available via Steam.

Cozy Caravan

Developed by Queensland-based 5 Lives Studio, Cozy Caravan is a single-player came about exploration, crafting, and community. From your comfy hand-me-down caravan, players will cook hearty meals, bake delicious desserts, and sew stylish outfits. Then, travel from town to town sharing your goods at weekend markets. Oh, and don’t forget to help the townsfolk prepare for their annual Whizz Bang Fair! Cozy Caravan will be released for Apple Arcade, PC via Steam, and Nintendo Switch on January 8.

Fishbowl

Developed by imissmyfriends.studio (a two-person team from India), and published by Wholesome Games Presents and imissmyfriends.studio, Fishbowl is a narrative game about dreams, grief, and hope. In the game, Alo goes through a transformation of sorts when she moves to a new city, nurturing friendships and rediscovering her past along the way. Slice-of-life meets surreal as players rediscover Alo’s memories and find their way into the present. Fishbowl will be released for PC via Steam and PlayStation 5 in April 2026.

ReStory

Developed by Mandragora and published by tinyBuild, ReStory is a relaxed, story-driven shop management simulator. It is set in mid-2000s Tokyo, and players will run their own shop, restoring nostalgic Y2K-era devices inspired by iconic game consoles (watch out for the officially licensed Atari systems!), phones, cameras, and music players. There is a branching storyline, so the ending depends on the player’s choices. ReStory will be released for PC via Steam in 2026.

Lindsay picked up an NES controller for the first time at the age of 6 and instantly fell in love. She began reviewing GBA games 20 years ago and quickly branched out from her Nintendo comfort zone. She has has developed a great love of life sims and FMV titles. For her, accessibility is one of the most important parts of any game (but she also really appreciates good UI).
