Sony’s introduction to this State of Play reads, “With Tokyo Game Show around the corner, it’s time to recognize the amazing contributions of Japanese game developers and studios around the world.” Expect to see several (if not all) blockbuster titles among the ten games showcased!

We don’t know much about it, but that’s right: a new Tekken is on the way. “People like us shouldn’t even exist in this world.” The presentation tells us to stay tuned for more information. Hogwarts Legacy

I’m not talking about this game past mentioning that it was featured. So that’s the end of that.

Pacific Drive

Reveal trailer. This first-person driving survival game is set in the pacific northwest of the USA. It’s just you and your car, traveling deep into a surreal place that’s been abandoned for decades. Basically, it looks like a driving/horror game where you need to survive a ride from hell. Pacific Drive will be released for PlayStation 5 in 2023.

It will also be released for PC and Xbox Series.

Stellar Blade (formerly Project EVE)

Story trailer. Follow EVE on her quest to save earth. The day the earth fell came suddenly. The enemies were ruthless, and the humans powerless. Humanity has fallen so miserably. The game is set in Xion, an abandoned city built underneath the Wasteland. Angel of the colony, can you save them this time? Stellar Blade is a PlayStation 5 console exclusive and will be released in 2023.

Rise of the Ronin

Reveal Trailer. In Koei Tecmo (and Team Ninja) we trust! In this sprawling action-adventure RPR, explore an evolving world in 1863 Japan, fighting to forge a new era of change for Japan. The player, a warrior, watches over everyone.
sprawling action-adventure RPG. Rise of the Ronin is a PlayStation 5 console exclusive, and will be released in 2024.

God of War: Ragnarok

Controller trailer and story trailer. It starts with the limited edition DualSense controller before going onto the game.

Everyone keeps secrets. Sometimes it’s the only way to protect the ones we love. Honestly, I don’t think God of War is anything special, but others seem obsessed so I’m happy they’re getting another sequel. God of War: Ragnarok will be released for PlayStation 5 on November 9.

Lindsay picked up an NES controller for the first time at the age of 6 and instantly fell in love. She began reviewing GBA games 20 years ago and quickly branched out from her Nintendo comfort zone. She has has developed a great love of life sims and FMV titles. For her, accessibility is one of the most important parts of any game (but she also really appreciates good UI).
