More Miku Mikuing on to smartphones!

When it rains, it pours! SEGA has announced a new Hatsune Miku title in development for smartphones, hot on the heels of the Nintendo Switch Miku title that it will release early in 2020. There are very few details for this “Project Sekai” release, other than it is for both iOS and Android, and we get this teaser:

SEGA’s last Miku effort on iOS was the really damn good Miku Flick (sadly no longer supported on modern devices), and so hopefully this new one will recapture that magic. Either way, this will no doubt be a release for next year at the earliest, so we’ve got plenty of time to find out more information.

You can never have too much Hatsune Miku!

Australia’s greatest game has a release date

The entire DDNet team is ultra excited for House House’s upcoming Untitled Goose Game. It’s a game where you play as a goose that runs around ruining people’s lives by doing things like dumping their sandwiches in the lake. We all wish we could be like the Goose.

Untitled Goose Game gets a release on Nintendo Switch and PC (Epic Games Store) on September 20. That’s right, it’s just 18 days away!

Based on the response that this game has been getting, this could well be Australia’s biggest release for quite some time. Fingers crossed for House House… we so badly want this to be good.

Here’s another Utawarerumono: Zan trailer for you

NISA has released a new trailer for Utawarerumono: Zan, the upcoming Warriors-like action game that spins off from the tactics/visual novel original series. In it you’ll get to play with over 12 characters, and jump online to play with friends.

This new trailer introduces four of the characters: Ougi, Jacjdwalt, Kiwru and Nosuri. As you can see, they all have their own distinct fighting styles and personality on the battlefield, which is good to see – there should be plenty of variety in there.

One thing that you don’t see from the trailer is the fanservice – there will likely be a healthy dose of that in Utawarerumono: Zan, given the series roots in adult VNs. All the more reason to look forward to it!

Groove Coaster is coming to Switch!

Groove Coaster is the best rhythm game that doesn’t feature beautiful girls with long twintails hair. Originally a humble iOS title, it has grown to have become a major franchise for Taito, with PC and arcade releases in Japan. Now it comes to the Nintendo Switch.

Groove Coaster: Wai Wai Party!!!! will feature four player multiplayer and Joycon control. Perhaps the most amusing thing about this release though is that bit where I said that the only thing the series lacks is the digital girls… because this one is also going to be absolutely loaded with guest appearances from popular VTubers, Vocaloids, and Touhou Project characters, and some songs will even have a “vocal change” option, where you can get your favourite digital celebrity to sing the song instead of the standard performer.

It’s currently a Japan-only release, and given the music in the track list, don’t be surprised if it remains so. Nonetheless, rhythm games are easy import options, even if you don’t know the language, and the Switch is region free so… it comes out in November.
