It’s that time of year again, and whatever your Christmas traditions (or however else you might celebrate this time of year) the DDNet crew wishes you all a happy, joyful and safe time.
2025 has been quite the rollercoaster of energy and emotion, both in terms of global events, and DDNet itself. We’ve had several issues with the site, and many disruptions as we’ve worked at finalising our visual novel and other major projects. We can’t thank you enough for your patience as we’ve worked through all of that.
That aside, it has been, on balance, a great ride, and 2026 is going to be a very exciting one for DDNet. We can’t wait to share with you what we have been cooking up.
Meanwhile, in the games industry, we saw a truly artful game in Clair Obscura win almost every accolade and catch the attention of the vast bulk of the industry. The video game sector can be so heavily consumerised, as we all know, that when something that behaves more like independent cinema than, say, Marvel films comes along and turns heads, it’s all the more special. If you haven’t played that game yet, then that’s definitely my recommendation for your gaming sessions over the holiday season.
2025 also gave us the release of the Switch 2, the successor to the greatest console of all time, and that Switch 2 hasn’t missed a beat in picking up that baton. What a console.
Anyhow, there will be plenty of time to rest and reflect on the year that was. For now, have a wonderful time with friends, family and loved ones, and thank you for being such an amazing readership. Couldn’t have done it without you all!
