Concrete Genie is an indie title developed by Pixelopus that we’ve had on our radar for awhile now, and there is finally news on when we can expect to see it! As revealed in a PS Blog post , the game will be available for download on October 8. The title follows Ash on his journey to paint his hometown back to life.

Ash is often bullied, and escapes his troubles through his sketchbook while exploring his hometown. The discovery of a mysterious lighthouse leads to him finding a magic paintbrush with Living Paint. It’s up to Ash to use the magic paintbrush to purify the polluted walls in town. Along the way, Ash creates mischievous genies.

His paintbrush has many different abilities, such paint skating. The blog post confirms the existence of Photo Mode, available at launch. There’s even a timelapse-style replay option.

Pre-orders are open now, and include some goodies so if you’re interested, it’s worth checking out. The standard edition of the game will cost $29.99 USD, and you’ll receive an avatar set and dynamic theme as a bonus. The deluxe edition is all-digital, and includes the game along with an art book, the soundtrack, a design pack to expand your toolset, and another dynamic theme. It will cost $39.99 USD.
