Nostalgic fans, who grew up with games, love new ways to play old favourites, and the Blaze Tab may just scratch that endless itch. Priced at £99.99 (that’s UK dollars), this 16GB Android tablet allows you to play games from your favourite past consoles such as the NES, GameBoy Color, NeoGeo, Dreamcast, PS1, and many others. It’s expected to ship in the third quarter of this year.

While still having the usual capabilities of an Android tablet (including full access to the Google Play store), this one is specifically designed with the gamer in mind. There are dual control sticks, a D-pad, bumpers, triggers, and every other button any game could ever possibly need. The 7” screen is also equipped with HDMI-out, allowing you to play on any screen. For more information, check it out Funstock.co.uk.

We’ll be very interested to see how this plays out (see what I did there?). Obviously the quality of the emulation software is going to be important here (and any legal challenges the manufacturer might face), but this is certainly a device that we’re very interested in.
