Konami’s first portable entry in the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow series. Mirror of Fate lashes into the Nintendo 3DS soon, but you can sink your fangs into the game a little early thanks to the just posted demo.

The demo will give players a feel for controlling Trevor Belmont on the 3DS and allow you to take it to a few of Dracula’s henchmen with the combat cross and (or course) the whip.

The free demo showcases intense whip combat, deep platforming, exploration and spectacular visuals of the highly anticipated title. Players control Trevor Belmont as he takes down the various creatures and minions of Dracula’s fortress. Gamers can also master the combat cross, deal damage with the boomerang, collect hearts and knight scrolls, and face off against the mighty executioner in a battle to the death.

Mirror of Fate takes place 25 years after the events in the first Lords of Darkness on consoles. The game follows two classic Castlevania heroes as Simon and Trevor Belmont strike out into the dark, dank confines of the famed vampire lord’s castle to extract cold vengeance for the wrongs done to their family tree.

It’s also no throw away as Mirror of Fate leads right into the forthcoming Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 that’s inbound to consoles. The demo is available now and be on the lookout for the full game that’s due to arrive on the handheld March 5th.
