It’s a week of showcases! Okay, maybe not that many, this is only the second… but outside big events that’s not all that common! Yesterday, eastasiasoft premiered its “Fall 2022” showcase. Today, all eyes are on NIS America as it releases its Showcase 2022. Expect four brand-new game announcements! Keep in mind NISA is working on Northern Hemisphere seasons, so “spring” will mean “fall” in AU/NZ. Let’s not waste time – get ready everyone!

void* tRrLM2(); //Void Terrarium 2

Already available in Japan, NIS America is set to bring Void Terrarium 2 to the west (featuring Japanese audio with English text). It follows the first Void Terrarium and is about the aftermath of the defeated CloudAI’s plot to resurrect humanity. If you’re curious about the first game, you can find Matt’s review here; he describes it as “a mature, different, and interesting take on the genre.” The roguelite dungeon RPG is set in a dystopian world contaminated with toxic fungi. Robbie the robot watches over the sole surviving human, Toriko. They’ve lived peacefully under Toriko falls ill with a deadly disease. Robbie will have to venture into the past to search the remaining bits of cloudAI’s memories to find clues about the illness. void* tRrLM2(); //Void Terrarium 2 will be released for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in “spring” 2023, both digitally and physically.

Process of Elimination

Danganronpa? Is that you? NIS America will be bring Process of Elimination to the west, again featuring Japanese audio with English text.. An infamous serial killer has over a hundred victims under his belt, and the country is in chaos. A group of the worlds top detectives form the Detective Alliance to uncover and subdue the killer. Thanks to a series of unforeseen events, hapless student Wato Hojo stumbles into their operations and joins them on an island to investigate the killer – only to realize that the killer is one of them! Process of Elimination will be released for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in “spring” 2023.

Monster Menu: The Scavenger’s Cookbook

This is a new take on strategy RPGs and I’m here for it! Monster Menu: The Scavenger’s Cookbook will be released with both English and Japanese audio, and English text. This dungeon-crawling survival adventure features cooking-based mechanics. Gather resources, ingredients, and items while exploring, and fight monsters in tactical combat. Then use what you’ve collected to cook meals to give you an edge in the next dungeon. Basically, your strategy will depend on your diet. There is detailed character customization. Monster Menu: The Scavenger’s Cookbook will be released for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch in “spring” 2023, both digitally and physically. It has not been released for PlayStation 5 in Japan at this time.

Raiden IV x MIKADO Remix

This is the only non-game announcement in the showcase; instead, it’s a gameplay trailer. Raiden is a classic arcade shoot ’em up. This version features brand-new levels, combat modes, play styles, a remastered soundtrack, vertical screen play, and more. There are multiple modes, including Arcade (take down your enemies quickly) and Score Attack (replay levels trying to beat your high score). Choose your ship, your music, and your play style. Raiden IV x MIKADO Remix will be released for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, and Xbox One on January 31 in North America and February 3 in Europe, both physically and digitally. It is already available for Nintendo Switch in the west.

GrimGrimoire OnceMore

DDNet has been covering the GrimGrimoire OnceMore remaster since it was announced, and I’m thrilled that I can say it’s officially coming west. And it’s GORGE! This version will include English and Japanese audio, and English text. Aspiring magician Lillet Blan heads to the Silver Star Tower, a magic academy that only the brightest can attend. Unfortunately, not all is what is seems: mysteries, monsters, and menaces lurk about the tower. Use magic to dispel the hidden secrets and discover the truth of the Silver Star Tower once more. This remaster includes a brand new skill tree, improved UI, and an art gallery. GrimGrimoire OnceMore will be released for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch in “spring” 2023, both physically and digitally. It has not been released for PlayStation 5 in Japan at this time.

Support 6

Lindsay picked up an NES controller for the first time at the age of 6 and instantly fell in love. She began reviewing GBA games 20 years ago and quickly branched out from her Nintendo comfort zone. She has has developed a great love of life sims and FMV titles. For her, accessibility is one of the most important parts of any game (but she also really appreciates good UI).
