Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition will be gorgeous!

A little over two years ago Swedish publisher Nordic Games acquired the rights to several of now-defunct THQ’s titles, including the Darksiders series. This winter, they are bringing part of it back in style with the completely remastered Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Let us ignore the kooky name, because if you say it out loud it actually sounds okay. Instead, let’s focus on the game itself – it is going to be gorgeous, folks. Working with Texas-based developer Gunfire Games, Nordic promises the Deathinitive Edition will include an improved graphics engine that will run in native 1080p. It will include the original Darksiders II and also integrates all previously released DLC seamlessly into the game while reworking the gameplay’s balance.

But back to how pretty it will be. The new graphics engine means a general boost in the quality, making everything look more crisp than ever. There is an increased depth to the entire look of the game, with obvious tweaks to shadows, textures, and colours.

You don’t have to take my word for it though – check out these comparison before-and-after screenshots:
