Persona 4: Golden is a game that our long-time readers will be familiar with, having scored a commendable 4/5 before going on to win our 2013 “Best Narrative” award. With that in mind, you can imagine our enthusiasm knowing the game is receiving an anime adaptation in the form of Persona 4 The Golden ANIMATION.

It’s not a series that’s new to the anime world, though. In addition to the numerous Shin Megami Tensei-affiliated anime adaptations that exist, there’s already a full-fledged 26 episode series for the Persona 4 of the non-gold variety.
The extent to which Persona 4 The Golden ANIMATION will differ from its predecessor in terms of plot and characters remains to be seen, but we do know that Golden’s Marie is being heavily featured in the trailer and promotional assets. Animation is also being done by A-1 Pictures rather than the studio that handled the first series, Anime International Company.
The show’s first episode is slated to air in Japan on July 7th. You can visit the anime’s official website, but do note it’s presented in its native language.
