Xbox Live gets Serious (Sam) this Fall

Not just one, but two different versions of the formerly PC only tough guy are heading to the console.

Both Serious Sam 3: BFE and Serious Sam Double D XXL will be launching on Xbox Live Arcade this Autumn.

“Serious Sam fans have been asking for Serious Sam 3: BFE to come to Xbox LIVE Arcade and we’re very excited to launch on the platform this fall,” said Roman Ribaric, CEO of developer Croteam. “All the high-octane action and over-the-top violence will be intact so Xbox LIVE Arcade gamers will get the full Serious Sam 3: BFE experience!”

While SS3 will be the same experience as that offered by the PC game, Double D XXL will be an experience of the ‘enhanced’ variety. In addition to the original game’s 18 levels (and dozen challenge maps) the new version will add in an ammo crate full of brand new goodies. In the cards for XBL players are new missions, enemies, challenges, weapon upgrades, and (maybe the biggest plus) a 2 player co-op mode.

“Xbox LIVE Arcade gamers are going to get so much insane Serious Sam action this summer it’s going to make their televisions bleed,” claimed Fork Parker, CFO of Devolver Digital, co-publisher of Serious Sam 3: BFE and Serious Sam Double D XXL. “Call the paramedics, homey. Your flat screen TV just took another headshot from Serious Sam.”

Expect the double-dose of ol’Sammy to terminate your Xbox with extreme prejudice this Fall. In the meantime, you can follow Sam’s trip from PC to console at facebook.com/SeriousSamFan or on Twitter by following @DevolverDigital
