The Xbox Live roundup is ready to believe you

This week, XBL features a bunch of games about spooks, specters, and ghosts. Do you have feelings of dread while sitting in your couch, chair, or futon?

Seriously, is it Halloween? We get a pair of spook-tacular Arcade titles this week and a demo for the very gruesome and creepy The Darkness II. Why, it’s enough to send a shiver up your spine! And just wait till you see how many Microsoft points everything will cost you- Shock!!!

But seriously folks- take a good, long look at Scarygirl. It’s a platformer with absolutely beautiful graphics. If you’re not 100% sold on it (and neither am I since I don’t know how it plays yet) grab the demo.

BTW- also worth mentioning is that the demo for Kingdoms of Amalur is up and is getting some incredible word of mouth. Better than Dragon Age II? Wouldn’t it have to be?

Arcade

  • Haunt – 800mspts — Kinect powered ghost wrangling in a scary old mansion. Available tomorrow (1/18)
  • Scarygirl – 1200mspts — Based on the graphic novel of the same name, Scarygirl dresses like a pirate and has a tentacle arm… I think I’ve seen this movie.

  • I grabbed the Kingdoms of Amalur demo, but there wasn't much else that caught my eye this week (though it was cool to see Doom again).  Funny Halloween reference, but a fair one.  Also?  I liked the Kingdoms demo. 😉
