Keen Games has revealed its plans for Enshrouded this year, including the final major Early Access update and its 1.0 launch in late 2026. The title first launched in Early Access two years ago. The major update — the game’s eighth — is scheduled for release in Q2 2026. It includes Adventure Sharing and “a plethora” of improvements. A new dev diary video is available, where they discuss what’s to come in the game.
In Enshrouded, the realm of Embervale has fallen; its peoples’ pursuit of forbidden power has caused the ancestors to unleash a world-consuming pestilence. The game features diverse biomes, including the sun-scorched Kindlewastes and the shadowed depths of The Revelwood, where players can uncover the remnants of lost cultures and forgotten myths. Within the Shroud is a story of magic, ruin, and redemption. By awakening the ancient Flame, reclaim the hope that once illuminated the realm.
The 0.8 update features Adventure Sharing V1, allowing players to share their worlds with the community. Its general improvements include balancing and bug fixes. The 1.0 update is packed with new features: quality of life updates, optimization, improved combat, new content, and Adventure Sharing V2. Enshrouded will also be released for consoles at this time.
Here is the dev diary:
A smaller patch that will be released tomorrow includes (via Keen Games):
- Combat tweaks continue, modifying damage number visibility, blocking and parry animations/telegraphy, projectile spells/attack improvements in accuracy, and their related displays.
- New vanity armour set; talk to the Huntress.
- Randomly exploding barrels placed will explode less randomly (after applying the patch, if it does explode, know that it was probably your fault).
- Fixed a lot of bugs, which should improve stability and performance.
Developed and published by Keen Games, Enshrouded will be released for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series this (Northern) autumn.
