I firmly believe in giving back, and Dancesport has given a lot to me over many years now. Sponsoring the Oceania Dancesport Championship is my way of doing what I can to give back to the dancing community, and I’m thrilled to be able to do this for the fourth year running.
There is also a strong link to The Last Waltz visual novel that is getting ever closer to release! One of the key themes of the VN is that it is an authentic look at the world of Dancesport and what the athletes go through. As part of that, the game’s soundtrack is all authentic Dancesport music, and we have also worked very closely with the artists to ensure that all poses, costumes, and designs are true to real Dancesport as well. This sponsorship will make that particularly clear. Some select tracks from the soundtrack will be used in the competition, and as you can see, we took heavy inspiration from this year’s guest performers when designing the game’s key art:
So, when you sit down to play The Last Waltz later in the year, know that it was made with the utmost of care and love for the sport. It may not have the profile of football, baseball, cricket, tennis or The Olympics, but this sport matters to a lot of people right around the world, and I have worked as hard as I can to do it justice.
Stay tuned for more about the competition – and of course, the visual novel, as we get closer to both.
In the meantime, why not wishlist The Last Waltz on Steam? That way you’ll be kept up to date with all the major announcements as we ramp up to release.
