The Pokémon Company has announced the launch details for Pokémon Legends: Z-A, which it describes as “a new frontier for the Pokémon video game series.” These details include the real-time RPG’s October release date, pre-order details, upgrade packs, cover art, and box shots. The cover art (above) features the game’s main characters and their partner Pokémon battling a Mega-Evolved Pokémon overnight in Lumiose City.More information will be revealed during the next Pokémon Presents video presentation, scheduled for July 22 on the Pokémon YouTube channel.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A: Choose either Chikorita, Tepig or Totodile to be your first partner Pokémon and begin a new adventure in Lumiose City – a setting that was introduced in the Pokémon X and Pokémon Y games on the Nintendo 3DS family of systems. Here, Quasartico Inc. is carrying out an urban redevelopment plan with the goal of making it easier for people and Pokémon to coexist. But when the sun goes down, the battles heat up. At night highly skilled Trainers are invited to participate in the Z-A Royale tournament: Just enter a battle zone to begin your climb from Rank Z all the way up to Rank A – Trainers who reach the top are even said to have a wish granted. Day and night reveal two sides to Lumiose City … so what will you find on your adventure?
