The newest Pokémon is the cutest little thing!

There have already been some pretty adorable Pokémon revealed in the past few months, but this newest one takes the cake as being the cutest of them all. Meet Wiglett! It’s a water-type garden eel Pokémon with the abilities of gooey and rattled. That’s right: it’s got the gooey ability! That just sounds fun.

Wiglett has an exceptional sense of smell, able to pick up on scents over 60 feet away. It is skittish and remains permanently cautious of its surroundings. When other Pokémon come near, it burrows into the sand to hide. Nobody has ever seen its end, or knows how long Diglett might be. You’ll notice that it resembles Diglett, which is intentional: Wiglett may be the result of Diglett adapting to the environment.

Developed by Game Freak, Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet will be released for Nintendo Switch on November 18. As always, it is a Nintendo exclusive.

Learn about the story in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope

Ubisoft has released a new trailer showcasing the story in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope. In all honesty, it’s nothing that we didn’t already know, but it’s still nice to see as the game is set to launch later this month. Players can build their dream team with three heroes (of nine) including Rabbid Peach, Luigi, and Rabbid Mario in this tactical action game with a new kind of combat system. Here’s the trailer:

If you don’t feel like watching, here’s what we learned word for word: In a far way land, darkness rises. Our fate rests in the hands of the galaxy’s greatest heroes, who are most definitely up to the task. In whimsical new worlds, they’ll meet new allies from the wild to the whacky to the whoa. Oh yes, and Bowser too. Together, they must liberate these lands gripped by evil. As spark hunters give chase across the stars, and the odds stacked against them, this unlikely team will need each other in order to triumph. But there is a deeper secret, shrouded in darkness, that could consume even the brightest light. The greatest heroes spark into action, united, they are the galaxy’s last hope.

Developed by Ubisoft Milan and published by Ubisoft, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope will be released for Nintendo Switch on October 20.

Wholesome and cozy visual novel Witchy Life Story is available now

Witchy Life Story is a cozy visual novel about a teen’s first two weeks on the job as the village witch. It blends gardening, tarot, meditations, and potion-brewing. Players help villagers by filling their orders, though sometimes what they need isn’t something they actually ask for. It’s important to take time to get to know each person, to better understand their needs.

You can be your own witch in the game by designing her however you want through the character creator. The house is also somewhat customizable, as you can decorate the alter with spells, crystals, and plants. Tend to the garden to get plants, then use those to brew potions. Get to know the villagers, including three romanceable characters. Maybe Flora will end up with a date to the festival!

Developed and published by Sundew Studios, Witchy Life Story is available now for PC via Steam.

JRPG Souls of Chronos announced

Souls of Chronos is a JRPG set 15 years after a catastrophic event knows as the Apocalypse. The world remains in a state of unrest. Astella, a harbour town, is suffering the same fate. Gangs, external forces, and secret societies all are clashing against each other; peace is about to fall to war. Through all this, a boy and a girl cross paths and Sid is saved by Torii. She wields the special power of Chrono. Sid and Torii embark on a journey into the unknown and intricate, intertwining events. Every decision could shape the future.

The game promises to be a classic JRPG experience with action and dialogue options, and a variety of side quests. Side quests can be completed for rewards to upgrade weapons or customize characters. Some of them may even shape future events.

Developed by FUTU Studio and published by Astrolabe Games, Souls of Chronos will be released for PC, followed by a console launch.

Lindsay picked up an NES controller for the first time at the age of 6 and instantly fell in love. She began reviewing GBA games 20 years ago and quickly branched out from her Nintendo comfort zone. She has has developed a great love of life sims and FMV titles. For her, accessibility is one of the most important parts of any game (but she also really appreciates good UI).
