“Gamers want AAA” – This is a lie

There’s an insidious little myth out there that suggests that “gamers” want what the AAA industry churns out. It’s used to justify just about everything the AAA industry does.

If it were true there wouldn’t be so many examples of games selling multiple millions of copies despite not giving players that “AAA” experience. The reality is that the blockbusters benefit the suits, so they’ve come up with the myth to try to push what is best for them on us.
