Final Fantasy IX is a beloved masterpiece of the PlayStation 1 era. So much so that the game’s re-re-re-release on the Nintendo Switch has been right at the top of the charts ever since it launched.

Now Square Enix has released a rather impressive “developer diary,” which is far more substantial than the usual marketing stuff. Featuring interviews with key members of the team, this is a 20-minute video that goes into some depth about the game, its heritage, and some of the more amusing anecdotes of its creation.

Enjoy this one (note, it’s in Japanese but there’s English subtitles)! And, if you haven’t yet for some reason, you absolutely should play this game.
