Well, that’s what it boils down to anyway. Team17 have released a new trailer for its upcoming Worms W.M.D. This trailer highlights the game’s hand-drawn environments, including buildings where Worms can be found hiding — or booby-trapping.
There are two takeaways from the trailer. First, these are some gorgeous environments that the reckless worms are using to host their warfare. There are six themes, including Countryside, Downtown, Frontier, Motherland, Rainforest, and Orient; each theme features a hand-drawn landscape. Two, there are now buildings in worms. It only took 21 years! Players can strategically move their worms into buildings to fire, but beware: when the turn is over, your worm will be trapped inside.

Worms W.M.D. was originally announced last year, and we’ve been excited for it ever since. The turn-based strategy game has both single player (20 training missions, 30 campaign missions, 10 challenges) and multiplayer (local and online) modes. It will be released on August 23 for PC, PlayStation One, and PC (and is available for digital pre-order now through various platforms).
