It’s that time of year again! The Christmas countdown is a tradition at Digitally Downloaded. Like the advent calendars filled with a chocolate each day, with our Christmas countdown we highlight a game each day that is perfect to help you get through the silly season.
Christmas is a time for family and friends, so it’s a good time of year to bust out the multiplayer games. It’s typically a time that people get some holidays, so it’s a good time to knock off some of those RPGs from the backlog.
More than anything else, it’s a good time for gaming. So grab a game or two from our little list and have yourself a Merry Christmas!

Day #3: Mario Party 10

Mario Party 10 isn’t the franchise’s magnum opus, but it’s still a reliably decent party game perfect for groups. It makes fine use of those amiibo that are no doubt hogging your shelf space with a mode that takes the series back to basics.
If you’re in the mood for something fresher (and are prepared to be labelled a sadist by family and friends alike during the most wonderful time of the year), though, you can choose to play as Bowser and wreak havoc on all the proceedings. It’s a neat little mode that lets a fifth player stick their nose in and offers up one of the more unique multiplayer experiences out there.
