Kingdom Under Fire was one of the most underrated games on the original Xbox. It was a mix of RTS and Dynasty Warriors-style hack-and-slasher.

After a disastrous attempt to make a more conventional sequel on the Xbox 360, early on in its life, we finally had a release of a “proper” sequel; Kingdom Under Fire II. This MMO enters an open beta phase on May 22.

This is, of course, yet another new direction for the franchise, but looking at the screenshots, it looks like it is, at least, following the same thematic style of the original game. Which I’m still waiting for a HD remake of. It looks positively primitive now, but it’s as playable as ever.

I’ve also included a trailer below. What do you think of it?
