I am a big fan of both Final Fantasy XIII and XIII-2 and Lightning was my favorite character from those games. So one could argue I am the exact audience Square Enix is targeting with their upcoming Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. Here we get a look at some abilities and a zone called “The Dead Dunes”
Recovery – Lightning can actually heal herself now when she needs to.
Lightspeed – This play on her name allows Lightning to slow time and abuse her enemies more easily.
So far Square Enix has said this will be a very different game from the last two. For some people, that will be good news. I enjoyed the last two, so a divergence in gameplay is a bit of a concern, but these screens look great and I am willing to give it a chance.
