The spooky adventure game from former Gabriel Knight writer Jane Jensen (among others) will sneak up on PC players just in time for Halloween.

Part one of the four part episodic game ‘The Hangman’ will be available for $9.99 USD on October 30th. There will also be a Season Pass that’ll get you a little bit of a discount overall and the complete soundtrack for The Hangman, that’ll cost you $29.99 USD.

Phoenix Online Studios’ Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller is a supernaturally tinged, murder mystery and has a very nice looking art style to go along with the narrative’s pedigree with comic artist Romano Molenaar (Batman, Witchblade, Tomb Raider, X-Men) at the helm.

From Phoenix Online Studios, the acclaimed developer behind The Silver Lining, Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller is an engrossing narrative with a truly evocative atmosphere. This chilling point-and-click adventure is a thought-provoking mystery following Erica Reed, a Boston-based FBI agent, haunted by the unsolved case of a serial killer who took her brother’s life. With the use of her post-cognition abilities – seeing an object’s past with a touch – players are challenged to unravel a complex tableau of characters, plots and puzzles, over the course of four episodes.
