Get your cardboard box ready- Snake sneaks onto Sony’s new portable.

Unlike the game’s console big brothers, this version of Metal Gear Solid HD Collection is actually a pair of the tactical espionage action games bundled together instead of a trio. The portable version of the collection lacks the last PSP release- Peace Walker (already available on the PSN).

What you do get in the pack, is the second game to bear the MGS title Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of the Patriots and MGS 3: Snake Eater. Both are great games and definitely should be given a once over by gamers who haven’t experienced them already. If you have played these games already (especially if you’ve played the recently released -and aforementioned- console version of the collection), you might want to take a pass… unless of course you really, really like touch controls and just need a portable MGS2.

“With METAL GEAR SOLID HD COLLECTION, gamers will be impressed with the updated graphics and the ability to zoom and perform attacks by using just their fingers on the touch screen of the PlayStation®Vita system,” said Tomoyuki Tsuboi, President of Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc.  It’s an exciting new way to experience the games METAL GEAR SOLID fans have known and loved for years.”
In addition to the visual upgrades, both titles include Transfarring, where players can start the action right where they left off as they transfer saved-data back and forth from their PlayStation®3 system version of METAL GEAR SOLID HD COLLECTION to their PlayStation®Vita system.

Metal Gear Solid HD Collection is available now for the PSV in both retail boxed and PSN flavors, it’ll cost you a cool $39.99 USD.
