The PSN update… gone sour

A game about the Sour Patch Kids (yes, the candy), Pinball Arcade, and the Skullgirls headline this week’s update for Sony’s download service.

I know almost nothing about World Gone Sour (that SPK game) other than the goal of the title is to end up being eaten… and I think I’ll keep it that way.

Pinball Arcade on the other hand, is a game that you might want to get to know a lot better. PA takes a bunch of classic real world tables and recreates them in the digital space. And it’s a universal App, uh, game– which means that if you buy the PS3 edition, you get the Vita one for freezies. Huzzah.

One on one fighter Skullgirls also bows in this week. The cartooney battler features an all-girl cast (get your mind out of the gutter!) and actually looks to be a pretty cool affair. Beautiful looking animation and some gorgeous sprites on this one (get your mind out of the gutter!).

You’ll also find some Uncharted 3 DLC, a few new add-ons for Motorstorm RC, and the very cool sounding prolog mission for Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City- Echo Six. You play as the special ops team sent in by the US government in this one and battle against the Umbrella troops that you play as in the full title. Whether or not it actually improves the somewhat lackluster game it expands upon, I don’t know, but it’s free so why not?
