Six years after its original Japanese launch, Cupid Parasite is now coming to PC later this year. This is Idea Factory International’s first PC otome release since 2018. The Steam versions will be available in North America and Europe, and feature Japanese voiceovers with English text. Anyone who orders the game from the IFI Store will get a trading card pack for free; more on that later.
Cupid Corporation, set in the fictional city of Los York, is a dating marriage agency infamous for its style—and success. Its top bridal advisor is Lynette Mirror, who consults trendy singles to make their romantic dreams come true. But that’s not all that she is: she is also Celestia’s Goddess of Love, Cupid!
A family argument drove her to the human realm, where she faces her biggest challenge: the Parasite 5. Following a series of interviews conducted by Lynette, it was determined that the five would appear on a matchmaking share house TV program. The fact that it also promotes the agency is a bonus.
Lynette needs to help the Parasite 5 find true love using practice dates to prepare them for the real world. And she might just snag one herself! Each member has a different love type, so who Lynette ends up with depends on the results of a questionnaire. After your first playthrough, unlock the ability to manually select a love type without completing the questionnaire. (Surprise! You can unlock new love connections!)
The choices you make for Lynette determine her fate. If she gives an answer someone likes, experience a Love Surge. A specific Love Level is needed to unlock each route’s Best Ending. Track your progression using a flowchart, allowing you to revisit your choices and relive memorable scenes.
Interestingly enough, the PC version of the game can be purchased via the IFI Store. (Pre-orders begin July 2 at 10 a.m. PT.) The Steam code will be e-mailed to you, but you also get a physical pack of trading cards for free. The trading cards feature the game’s love interests. One random card per pack is holographic, while the other five have a regular finish.
Developed by Idea Factory and published by Idea Factory International, Cupid Parasite will be released for PC via Steam on September 22. It is currently available for Nintendo Switch.
