Today, developer Twin Swans announced the voice cast for its upcoming first-person historical narrative folk-horror game, Hunter’s Moon. The game features 48 actors in over 100 roles. It follows Lilith Thorne, who is on the run after being accused of witchcraft. Over the course of one night—the night of the Hunter’s Moon—the Witchfinder General pursues her. Hunter’s Moon is scheduled to launch for PlayStation later this month.

“The witch is an eternally popular mythical figure, and in our contemporary media landscape, we often forget where these stories come from,” says writer and director Alicia Contestabile in a press release. “I wanted to create an interactive theatre, set in this era of magical thinking, and immerse the player in the perspective of an accused woman. Exploring how these beliefs could drive a community to enact such cruelty, the player can experience what it might feel like to face these accusations, from family, friends, and neighbours, and know that your life is at risk.”
