Here is a description of the game, via Paradox Interactive:

In LEGO Skylines, you’re encouraged to build a city that’s both beautiful and functional. First, cover the basics like roads, electricity, food, and water to make your city run smoothly. Then, make it a place your citizens love. Add cozy homes for them to return to after work, green parks where they can unwind, quirky stores stocked with their favourite goods, and well-equipped hospitals to keep everyone in one piece. Turn your city into a cultural capital with great museums and impressive sports arenas, or plop bakeries on every street corner, serving delicious donuts baked with wheat from your own farms. As you expand, you’ll gradually unlock new buildings and services for your citizens to enjoy, increasing your city’s rating and their happiness along the way. With a large selection of customizable plots, buildings, and countless other LEGO decorations, it’s easy to create a city that’s got your fingerprints all over it.

“Building and creativity have always been at the heart of the LEGO experience, but LEGO Skylines takes us into completely new territory,” said Fredrik Löving, SVP, Global Head of GAME at the LEGO Group, in a press release. “Together with Paradox Interactive and Iceflake Studios, we have brought the LEGO experience to one of the world’s most beloved gaming genres. From the beginning, our ambition wasn’t just to make a LEGO city-builder; it was to create a game that is considered among the best in the genre. Whether players dream of building a bustling metropolis, a quirky seaside town, or something nobody has imagined before, LEGO Skylines gives them the creative freedom and depth to make it happen.”

Developed by Iceflake Studios and published by Paradox Interactive, LEGO Skylines is in development for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Switch 2, and Xbox Series.

Lindsay picked up an NES controller for the first time at the age of 6 and instantly fell in love. She began reviewing GBA games 20 years ago and quickly branched out from her Nintendo comfort zone. She has has developed a great love of life sims and FMV titles. For her, accessibility is one of the most important parts of any game (but she also really appreciates good UI).
