Deer & Boy launches this month for PC and consoles
Cinematic platformer Deer & Boy is a warm and poetic journey to rediscover wonder. The game follows a runaway boy as he meets a fragile fawn and they form a silent bond. This week, Lifeline Game Studio and Dear Villagers announced a June launch window for the title; it will launch for PC and consoles this month (June 2026).
Their bond is explored using stunning visuals and music. The fawn will grow from vulnerable to a majestic deer, changing the play. As the boy, protect the deer early on and work as equals as it grows stronger. While younger players may simply see a beautiful friendship, adult players will discover deeper themes about healing and strength through companionship.
Developed by Lifeline Game Studio and published by Dear Villagers, Deer & Boy will be released for PC via Steam/Epic, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series in June 2026.
An introduction to the Underworld in Waltz and Jam
Originally announced two years ago, Waltz and Jam is a colourful action-adventure game starring an inseparable ghost and puppy duo. Waltz, an innocent and lost ghost, explores the afterlife with his adorable puppy spirit Jam by his side. They face seven formidable trials across seven unique, hand-crafted locations. Last week, the developer shared a look at the game’s Underworld.
Here are the game’s key features, via Flyaway Games:
- It’s dangerous to adventure alone… Take a puppy: As your journey together, Jam will discover new and incredible abilities he possesses.
- Discover a treasure trove of toys on your adventure: Use these terrific trinkets to solve puzzles, defeat monsters, and traverse the world.
- Explore 7 unique realms to save Waltz’s soul: Each area pulses with its own distinct personality, teeming with untold secrets and thrilling surprises.
- Win heart-pounding boss battles: End each trial with a battle against a colossal opponent, and find all the secret bosses scattered throughout the world.
Developed by Flyaway Games, and published by Flyaway Games and KRAFTON, Waltz and Jam will be released for PC via Steam. More information will be shared at a later date.
Crossword adventure game Rita launches in July
Melbourne-based SporkTank has announced a July release date for its cute crossword adventure game, Rita. In the game, a little chick solves word-based puzzles and light platforming challenges to transform the world around her. Her story spans generations and becomes part of her legacy.
Rita is a smart chick with a knack for solving word puzzles, including crosswords. Other puzzle games include word searches, rebus, anagrams, and more. As she explores, she collects letters to fill out newspaper pages, which progress and shape her legacy. The game features light Metroidvania mechanics, as Rita’s solution brings the world to life. Ramps appear, bridges self-repair, trains manifest, time passes, and palm trees grow, all revealing new areas to explore.
Developed and published by SporkTank, Rita will be released for PC via Steam on July 30.

UnitePlus and Arc System Works have revealed the official trailer for River City Saga: Journey to the West, a roguelite action game launching this week. The game features Sun Wukong, Zhu Bajie, Sha Wujing, and Tang Sanzang—all the main characters are Kunio! The wild, exhilarating, comedic action-adventure game has them all setting out for Tianzhu.
In the game, you obtain Secret Skills from gods who randomly appear during the stages to boost your abilities and stats. There are 80 different Secret Skills available. You’ll begin with the speed-focused Sun Wukong, with the power-focused Zhu Bajie and the long-range Sha Wujing being unlocked through progression.
Developed by UnitePlus and published by Arc System Works, River City Saga: Journey to the West will be released for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch on June 4.
