Announced less than a month ago at Nintendo’s Indie World Showcase, the next paid DLC pack for PowerWash Simulator is a trek into the land of Shrek. PowerWash Simulator is a chill game about, well, powerwashing. Clean anything from an old-timey bicycle to an entire pyramid (inside and out). In this DLC, you’ll clean five levels of colourful cartoony Shrek fun. There is also a new powerwasher, seen in this trailer, and presumably a new outfit and gloves based on what has been included with past DLC. As you work, you’ll receive messages from some familiar folks. Today, FuturLab and Square Enix Collective announced an October launch date for the Shrek Special Pack.

PowerWash Simulator is no stranger to collaborative DLC and has already launched packs based on Tomb Raider, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Warhammer 40K, SpongeBob Squarepants, Back to the Future, and Warhammer 40K. There is also DLC based on Alice in Wonderland, which is in the public domain so no collaboration was required, and several packs based on the base game’s storyline.

Today’s announcement included information on all five levels included with the DLC.

  • Shrek’s Swamp has been completely drenched in glittery goop, leading to a satisfying, high-contract clean-up. Venture into his home to admire the attention to detail.
  • In Duloc, discover a collection of art that some gifted but disgruntled knights left behind.
  • From Shrek 2, Fairy Godmother’s Potion Factory has been meticulously replicated — there are even working machines! Everything is all gunked up, including the machines. Clean it all soon so you don’t harm the Fairy Godmother’s potion empire.
  • The Dragon’s Lair, home to a glittery hoard of gold and gems, isn’t even a bit shiny anymore.
  • Hansel’s Honeymoon Hideaway is just adorable, though quite detailed . Made with a gingerbread structure and candy decorations, it has seen better days.

Developed by FuturLab and published by Square Enix Collective, PowerWash Simulator is available for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series. (Unrelated to this DLC news, but a different version is available for VR.) The Shrek Special Pack DLC will be released for all platforms on October 10.

She has has developed a great love of life sims and FMV titles. For her, accessibility is one of the most important parts of any game (but she also really appreciates good UI).
