Don’t Nod has been in the news a lot lately, most recently with the announcement that is will be publishing hand-drawn adventure game Koira. The company is still a developer too, though its scope has grown since its humble beginnings of Remember Me and Life is Strange. It has three games launching this year. The first, Harmony: The Fall of Reverie, has already launched. The second, Justant, will be released on Halloween. The third, Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, is launching in November. Today, publisher Focus Entertainment released a beefy, 15-minute gameplay trailer for the upcoming title.

Take on the roll of two Banishers in a world where the souls of the departed roam. Both Antea Duarte and Red mac Raith are experienced spirit hunters, and they have been entrusted with the daunting task of lifting a malevolent and ominous curse. Antea, unfortunately, ends up dead herself, leaving her partner and lover in both solitude and profound despair. But remember: departed souls roam in this world, so Antea is still there… kind of. Torn between their vows to protect the world from malicious spirits and the nightmare of Antea’s condition, they’ll wander North America trying to liberate her from her new plight, whatever the price.

Here’s the extended look at the gameplay:

This world is plagued with supernatural creatures and ancient secrets. Players can combine Antea’s spiritual powers and Red’s mighty arsenal to banish the souls tormenting the living. They’ll uncover secrets, navigate mysterious landscapes, and meet memorable yet tormented characters. Heavy decisions will be in the way, each impacting the story and its challenges. Will you choose to honour your Banisher oat, or sacrifice the living to bring Antea back to life?

Developed by Don’t Nod and published by Focus Entertainment, Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden will be released for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series on November 7.
