Down under? It's more of a winter showcase.

In the Northern Hemisphere, summer is on its way; to celebrate, eastasiasoft released its tenth games showcase. The showcase features 15 upcoming titles, all expected to launch in the second and third quarters this year. The video is about ten minutes long, so it’s quite fast-paced which I like: there’s no filler, it’s just game after game.

The showcase revealed some new information about the Seven Pirates H release, shows off Otoko Cross, and introduces the world to the next Pretty Girls game; it’s also filled to the brim with retro graphics, including a 1-bit game. Here’s the full video, then we’ll dive into some of its highlights:

Seven Pirates H

Seven Pirates H is theBooby Training game that we’ve been looking forward to! The standalone chapters in the Genkai Tokki series has players exploring islands in search of a legendary treasure, taking on naughty enemies in turn-based battles, and playing bust-enhancing mini games to change attributes of the all-female crew. The eastasiasoft showcase discusses its launch. It’s set to be released on May 12 for Nintendo Switch both digitally and physically for Nintendo Switch. Any online orders for the physical edition are expected to ship.

Divination

Divination is a little bit of a weird one, which of course means I’m instantly drawn to it. In a room full of screens is a pair of hands that can predict the future. The player is the Diviner, a fortune teller using ancient rules to tell the future despite the high-tech world growing around you. It’s the future and people have begun to reject life, seeing it as a burden. They come to the Diviner seeking answers, and they will receive them. Talk to clients to learn about them, then arrange the runes they’ve chosen to decide what answer to give them. These answers are powerful, and hold the power to the fate of both humans and robots. Divination will be released on May 18 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series, and Xbox One.

A pair of robot hands enter to from the top centre. Under that is the Divination logo, and under that a crowd of robots and humans.

Freezer Pops

Freezer Pops is a visual novel about a game developer turned ice pop tycoon (okay, that’s a bit of an exaggeration). Alexandre loses his university scholarship and his roommate decides to travel the world, and suddenly he needs to pay for his entire apartment on his own. He learns that selling freezer pops on the nearby beach is a good way to make some quick cash, and he decides to try it out. Players control his career and his love life, visiting locals and making romantic connections while competition with a woman who is actually a freezer pop tycoon. Freezer Pops will be released on May 27 for Nintendo Switch.

The Freezer Pops logo appears at the centre of the top of the frame. There are three men on a beach: a white man holding a cooler, a black man posing, and a very tanned man looking gruff.

Seduction: A Monk’s Fate

Seduction: A Monk’s fate is a horror-themed side-scrolling action adventure about a monk who must enter a dark realm to uncover the truth of his monastery. He’ll solve puzzles, search for clues, and evade danger while avoiding temptation that lies around every turn. Ultimately, the goal is to rescue a woman’s soul from being sacrificing in a forbidden ritual. Seduction: A Monk’s Fate will be released this summer for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series, and Xbox One.

Lindsay picked up an NES controller for the first time at the age of 6 and instantly fell in love. She began reviewing GBA games 20 years ago and quickly branched out from her Nintendo comfort zone. She has has developed a great love of life sims and FMV titles. For her, accessibility is one of the most important parts of any game (but she also really appreciates good UI).
