It goes without saying that visuals are critical to the video game experience. But so often we are led to believe that it’s the most technically brilliant visuals in the AAA-blockbusters that are the “best graphics.” We would suggest that art direction is much more important, and the more distinctive and interesting, the better the game’s “graphics”. That philosophy is what we celebrate in these awards.
