Hello everyone! I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend.

The November issue of the Dee Dee Zine is now live! It’s another 48 pages filled with fascinating content about Japanese games, art and culture, and this time around we’ve got:

  • An interview with the creator behind the upcoming JRPG, Monark.
  • A deep dive into Battle Royale, and just how horribly that book’s artistry has been appropriated for video games.
  • A retrospective feature on the quality and impact of Bubble Bobble.
  • Intertextuality and how it might be applied to games.
  • A love letter to gyoza!

Additionally, we have all the usual bits and pieces – an absolutely spectacular take on Amelia by our (now) regular artist, Ldan, a comic from Dave to lighten things up, and a bit of a guide to the upcoming figures and games to look forward to, and a photo of the month taken from my trips to Japan (as well as the story behind it).

To access the magazine (and all previous issues) all you need to do is support us on Patreon! As little as $1/month for access to all this content – seven months worth of magazines now! You can support us here.

Thanks as always for reading, and have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
