Video by Matt S.

Note: In advance, I went into this game having not played ActRaiser, which I understand it’s a spiritual successor to. So in my video – and review on DDNet, I’ve looked at it in terms of it being a 2D platformer + tower defence strategy title. Which is what ActRaiser is, as far as I can tell, but I’ve looked at it without that background in mind.

SolSeraph is the latest title from Ace Team out of Chile, and it’s a very fine little blend of tower defence, platformer, and RTS. It’s also a good effort by the developer to try and find a new relevance for the tower defence – a genre that has sadly fallen out of mainstream favour.

In this video I take a look at SolSeraph’s systems, and what it is about the strategy elements (in particular) that I find so enjoyable.

Thanks as always for tuning in!
