News by Matt S.

We recently reported that the Australian Classification Board had let slip that Root Letter: Last Answer was likely getting a western release. After all, you don’t go to the expense to get something classified in Australia unless you’re going to release it.

Now, publisher PQube has formally announced that the live action take on the original Root Letter is indeed coming. It will release at some point in 2019, and is coming to PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

The game follows the same story as the original Root Letter (you can read our review of that here). It’s about a man that travels to a small, rural part of Japan to investigate the disappearance of a pen pal that he had 15 years ago, and in the process discovers an eclectic bunch of characters indeed. This new version uses real actors, and should give the base game a very cinematic feel.
