One of the most fascinating stories through the Sengoku period of Japanese history (which forms the basis of Samurai Warriors) is Kaihime, one of the few women through the era to pick up a sword and command soldiers on the battlefield. She was excellent at it, too, when she led a small unit of 200 in an attack which broke the back of an entire invading army.

This video looks at who Kaihime was and what she did, and how she’s portrayed in the Samurai Warriors games.
