It seems only logical that everyone’s favourite time-travelling Doctor would make an appearance in a game with Lego Dimensions. With the recent Comic-Con reveal of the Doctor Who/ LEGO Dimensions trailer and details, Warner Bros. might as well start depositing every single paycheck of ours directly into its bank account. Of course, that’s only what could be expected when something as beloved as LEGO is combined with nearly every franchise a geek could ever love.

First, let’s start with the trailer. Make it big, and make it loud, and watch it again and again!

Your ears aren’t deceiving you: that is in fact the voice of Peter Capaldi, the 12th Doctor. The game will also feature the voice talents of Jenna Coleman (Clara Oswald) and Michelle Gomez (Missy) returning to their respective Doctor Who characters. In the trailer, we see the Doctor pulling Wyldstyle, Batman, and Gandalf into the TARDIS to battle monsters. We also get a glimpse at how different worlds will combine: Doctor Who and Homer Simpson are seen bouncing around in Aperture Science (we do what we must because we can), the TARDIS appears in Gotham, and the good Doctor is also seen riding through a haunted mine with Scooby Doo and Shaggy. If that last bit has anything to do with the outcome of the story, we’re betting it was the mineshaft’s owner behind it all along.

Arguably the best news from the announcement is that there will be a Doctor Who level included in the LEGO Dimensions starter pack – that means everyone can play as the 12th Doctor right from the start!

In a close second for the best news from the announcement is the Doctor Who Level Pack, which can be purchased separately from the LEGO Dimensions Starter Pack. It will include a new Doctor Who level, a LEGO minifigure of the 12th Doctor, and LEGO models of the TARDIS and K-9. But most importantly, with this pack you can play as – are you ready for this? – EVERY. DOCTOR. That’s right. You can play as all twelve doctors (although only one is voiced, sadly). When the 12th doctor dies in game, he comes back as the 1st Doctor. When he dies he comes back as the 2nd Doctor, and so forth.

And just in case that isn’t enough Doctor Who for you, there will also be a Doctor Who Fun Pack that includes a Cyberman minifigure and a Dalek model, both playable in the game.

Put on your favourite scarves (we know it’s the 4th Doctor’s), peruse through these screenshots, sit back and wait for September 28.

LEGO Dimensions will be available for Nintendo Wii U, Sony PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, and Microsoft Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
