donation-appeal-please-help-digitally

Two years ago, I started Digitally Downloaded for a very simple reason: I wanted to help improve the standard of games journalism in Australia, and indeed the world.

It’s difficult to build up a website when there are already so many very high profile games sites out there, but thanks to the hard work of a very talented team, that’s precisely what we’ve done. I am immensely proud of the integrity and quality of this site, and I hope it comes through to our readers.

Wikipedia, when it does its donation drives, likes to do a “if everyone donated $5 we would have enough money to run for a year,” in its donation drives. So I’d like to do that too: if every one of our readers in a month donated $5 then Digitally Downloaded would be able to hire full-time staff.

At the moment it’s a labour of love for us all. This means that we simply can’t do everything we want to do. We’d be able to attend more events, gain more exclusive interviews, and, of course, review more games.

We want to do more for our readers. We all believe very strongly in what we’re doing, and we’re committed to keeping our content free, accessible, and open. There’s a lot more that we can do, too.

But doing more costs money. So please donate a small amount to Digitally Downloaded. Every dollar donated will be re-invested into the website, and it’s easy (and secure) to do via PayPal.

Lastly, a very big thanks to all our readers, and we look forward to many more years of games coverage ahead.

  • My goodness, that Aussie dollar.
Cheers to the efforts of you and your team, Matt. I hope the funding drive proves fruitful…you might want to give your post a friendly bump every now and then!

  • Hi Andrew,

Thank you for the kind donation (as well as every one else that donated)! It's really great that there are people that are liking what we're doing. Hopefully we can continue to do the right thing for you into the future!
