The fifth and final (if you don’t count Skyfall) James Bond mission has been set for mega-crossover game 007 Legends. What better way to round out the game than with the iconic Goldfinger?

It does, in all fairness, seem a little odd(job) to see Daniel Craig starring in Goldfinger and speaking one of the more famous lines ever uttered by the Sean Connery version of the famed secret agent, but it’s kind of neat too.

In 007 Legends, the Goldfinger mission finds the best undercover agent early in his career investigating Auric Goldfinger – a gold magnate thought to be behind a recent spike in gold prices – only to discover a larger plot to irradiate the entire Fort Knox gold reserve.

In order to thwart the plot, Bond takes action to infiltrate Goldfinger’s headquarters with help from a questionable acquaintance – Pussy Galore. Upon arrival at Fort Knox, 007 is tasked with defusing a nuclear bomb before it detonates, and the only thing standing between Bond and the bomb is Goldfinger’s henchman – Oddjob – and his notoriously deadly hat. Will Bond be able to defeat Oddjob? Will Goldfinger’s evil plans succeed? Check out 007 Legends this fall to experience some of the biggest moments in Bond history in this unique movie-inspired game.

In all, the game ties together Die Another Day, Moonraker, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, License to Kill, and Goldfinger – with a special post launch (free) DLC mission featuring the upcoming Skyfall. Just what the overarching story will be is still under wraps, but I can’t wait to hear what it is since it somehow brings these half-dozen (very different) Bond adventures together. Should be interesting at the very least.

Look for 007 Legends to get the drop on retail shelves on October 16th for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
