The Nintendo download arrives on the wings of Icarus

Yes friends, Kid Icarus 3D finally arrives in all it’s ‘enhanced’ 3D this week. Good thing too, ’cause there isn’t too much else fit for an Olympian.

Another weak group of additions to Nintendo’s download service this week is very easily headlined by the classic Kid Icarus repainted in 3D. If you’ve never played Pit’s original adventure from way back in the early days of the NES, you’ll probably find something to smile about with this one.

Other than the kid though, there’s not too much here to download. Much like last week, one of the biggest offerings is a video. Slow time of year I guess…

  • I Must Run – $1.99/200 points — I Must Run! is a skill-based action running game. Jump across gaps between jail buildings, run through a subway station, and test your reflexes in a deadly dash over construction site cranes. Reach the city center and save your wife. Remember, you have only 24 hours. Let’s hope your fitness levels can cope, because you must run! Once you have completed story mode, try to achieve the highest score in the never-ending run in six available levels: Jail, Subway, Sewers, Construction Site, Suburbs and Rooftops.

  • Not a great deal going on over here either.  Kid Icarus is quite the classic, though I'm not sure that I'll be re-purchasing on 3DS since I already have it on WiIVC.  I'm punished enough by the original version…  🙂

  • LOLRobert  Agreed – I lucked out and got this as part of my pre-order for Uprising, but while I enjoy the 3D aesthetics and feel that it's a decent game, I don't know if I would have purchased it outright having played and beaten the original on the NES several times years ago.

  • 🙂 I thought about the pre-order situation, but while cool, didn't seem to be worth it to buy Uprising at full price at the moment.

Though if I didn't own it at all the 3D classic might be an interesting way to go.

  • I ended up buying Uprising a week or so after release- Best Buy had it for (I think) $10 or 20 off? Missed out on the fee 3D classic so I'm thinking about this one… all in all I'll probably skip it though. I'm still playing through Resident Evil lol
