Seeing green and red? It must be Christmas!

Every year the world patiently (or not-so-patiently) counts down those 24 days to Christmas; there’s even calendars filled with little treats to help keep the young ones patient.

Then the big day rolls around and it’s filled with great food, great company and, of course, presents.

Christmas is the best time of year, and so to do our bit in celebrating we’re doing our own advent calendar. Each day we’ll unveil another game that has touched us in some way over the year – whether because it’s a work of interactive art, laugh-out-loud funny or just so weird it blew our mind.

So be sure to check back each day for a new game suggestion to fill your Christmas break!

8 Days to Go! Scribblenauts Remix

The two Scribblenauts games on DS were terrific in that they gave you everything in the world to play with, including the kitchen sink. However, some felt the game to be a bit expensive for the level of content.

As an affordable title on the iOS platform, Scribblenauts Remix has no need to live up to retail standards, yet it does an excellent job of mixing elements of both originals with new levels.

Each level gives you a task to solve and you’re expected to solve it using literally anything at your disposal. If you want add an item to the scene, just type it in and it will appear instantly. You can choose to beat all the stages or simply use the dictionary as your own personal playground, summoning whatever deities and rainbow beavers you like.

For the price, you simply can’t go wrong with Scribblenauts Remix. Even jolly ol’ Saint Nick himself makes an appearance.
